Síkírù Sàlámì (Bàbá King)

Born in Abẹ́òkúta, Nigeria, Bàbá King has served as a bàbálórìṣà for more than forty years and is widely recognised as a leading figure in the dissemination of Yorùbá religious traditions and culture across Africa, Brazil, and Europe. He holds a doctorate in Social Sciences from the University of São Paulo, where he also taught Yorùbá Language and Culture, and founded the Oduduwa Cultural Centre. The author of seminal works on Yorùbá tradition, he has devoted decades to the research and documentation of forms of knowledge previously transmitted exclusively through oral tradition.

Rodrigo Ribeiro Frias 

Born in the city of São Paulo, he holds a doctorate in Social Psychology from the University of São Paulo, where he also completed postdoctoral research, in addition to undergraduate and master’s degrees in Language and Literary Studies from the same institution. His research focuses on the traditional religion and oral tradition of the Yorùbá people, including medical, magical, and pharmacological practices, as well as conceptions of personhood. He also works in the fields of African and Afro-Brazilian religions, religious identity, coloniality, and decoloniality.

Ìdòwú Àlí 

Born in Okeigbo, Nigeria, into a family devoted to the traditional worship of the òrìṣà, he is a researcher of Yorùbá culture, traditional religion, and oral tradition. He moved to Brazil in his youth to study Portuguese and subsequently obtained a degree in Accounting Sciences from the Fluminense Federal University, where he also taught the Yorùbá language. He currently resides in Nigeria.
